U.S. Peace Corps Strengthens Partnership with Philippine Department of Education and Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency

The U.S. Peace Corps signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Department of Education and Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency on December 17, 2018.

The MOU outlines the roles and responsibilities of the three agencies in the design, promotion, implementation, evaluation, and support of Peace Corps Philippines projects and activities in the Education Sector.  The MOU seeks to foster stakeholders ownership to ensure that projects and activities effectively address local and national priorities and achieve sustainable results.

Peace Corps has deployed Peace Corps Volunteers in the Education Sector throughout the Philippines for decades.  Education Sector volunteers work with their host communities to improve English language proficiency and teaching, raise students’ academic performance, and increase stakeholder engagement with schools and communities.
