U.S. Customs and Border Protection Conducts Training for Bureau of Customs Officers

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection conducted an International Seaport Interdiction Training with 25 Philippine Bureau of Customs (BOC) officers from September 17 to 21, 2018 in Mandaue City, Cebu.  Participants included BOC officers from the ports of Cebu, Davao, Batangas, Iloilo, Manila, Cagayan de Oro, and the Manila International Container Port.   The training, funded by the U.S. Export Control and Border Security (EXBS) Program, enhanced BOC officers’ skills in interdicting illicit goods in seaport environments and provided an overview of seaport operations, counterterrorism measures, cargo processing, container inspection techniques, and officer safety.  In addition to classroom lectures and case studies, the training included hands-on exercises at the Cebu International Seaport to practice interdiction techniques.
