Project Summary: This program aims to strengthen and elevate the Museum staff’s management knowledge and skills in accordance with internationally accepted standards and practices on museology. Specifically, it aims to enhance the Museum’s capability to efficiently and effectively manage its collection of artifacts and ethnographic objects from the seven major tribes of the Cordilleras, with long-term preservation as the underpinning consideration. To attain this goal, the program will carry out a comprehensive scope of activities on museum management following ICOM guidelines to include: conservation needs assessment, actual repair, restoration and stabilization as well as preventive conservation work for the collection, installation of basic environmental monitoring and climate control equipment, exhibit development, and training on preventive conservation, collection management and curatorship, among others.
