Peace Corps Volunteers Assist in Opening of First E-Reading Room in Marinduque

Peace Corps Volunteers assisted in the opening last month of Marinduque’s first E-Reading Room funded by the Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens Memorial Foundation through the initiative of Tigwi National High School.

The E-Reading Room is envisioned to help improve the academic performance of all students, especially struggling students. The E-Reading Room is also expected to connect Filipino students with their peers in the United States. It is hoped that the exchange of ideas will foster collaboration and friendships. The ribbon-cutting and turning over of keys ceremony included performances by the students and the traditional ‘putong’ to welcome guests to Marinduque.
