WORKING HOURS: Full time (40 hours/week) @ 8-hour workday schedule
SERIES/GRADE: FSN – 5
SALARY: Php 376,255.00 per year

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Lead Gardener performs duties as a working supervisor who reports directly to the Operations & Technical Manager (OTM). Works closely with the Operations and Technical Manager in planning the maintenance and care of the Cemetery. Takes a specific work assignment and develops an operational plan to accomplish the work. Assist preparing the daily work schedules, monthly programs, and long-term planning schedules. Works independently leading a group of 6-12 workers to accomplish work assignments. Verifies and supervises the correct application of chemicals such as fertilizers, insecticides, fungicides etc. Knowledge of all the machinery used in Cemetery that is involved in gardening tasks. Enforces safety on use of machinery, tools or when work is performed at certain heights. Act as the alternate supervisor during the absence of the Operations & Technical Manager.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
The work requires frequent walking, standing, pushing of carts and wheelbarrows, bending, shoveling, hoeing, and stooping. Occasionally climbs ladders, or uses scaffolding or cherry pickers at heights up to 15 meters off the ground to prune or trim vegetation and frequently lifts heavy objects such as bags of fertilizer, grass seed, etc. Work is done outside. In working outside, he is subject to discomfort from long periods exposed to the elements. Being exposed to dirt, dust, mud, and sometimes to chemical sprays and dusts, they may wear protective clothing such as gloves, safety shoes, and boots. There is chance of minor injuries such as bruises, cuts, and scrapes. Care must be exercised in the operation of a wide range of power machinery.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Education:
- Completion of Secondary School.
- Completion of 2-year Technical School in Agriculture or Horticulture is an advantage but not required.
- Work Experience:
- Must have Journey-Level trade knowledge in gardening or grounds maintenance work.
- Language Proficiency:
- Ability to speak, write and understand basic English.
- Knowledge:
- Must have well developed skills to guide, train, lead, and instruct a small size (6 to12) trades and crafts work force.

- In order to qualify, applicants must have 1 year time in grade at the next lower grade level. All applicants will be considered at the grade level(s) they are qualified for.

SELECTION PROCESS
